Enema Prep

Three (3) Days Before Procedure

• Discontinue all products containing olean or olestra (artificial fat).
• Discontinue Xenical.

Day Before Procedure

• Clear liquids for supper.
  
  Clear liquids include soft drinks, coffee, tea, Popsicles, Jell-O, broth, clear juices and hard candy. NO RED OR PURPLE! NO MILK! NO CORN OR FOOD WITH SEEDS!
   
• One enema one hour before midnight.
• Nothing to eat or drink past midnight.

Day of Procedure

• One enema at least one hour before procedure time, or one enema at least 1 1/2 hours before arrival time and one enema 1 hour before arrival time.
• Take morning medications, if any, with a small sip of water.
• You may have clear liquids until 4 hours before your procedure.
  (only if your procedure is in the afternoon 12pm - 4pm)

• Be sure to take Blood Pressure, Seizure and Heart medications.
• If you are a Diabetic, please call your physician for dosage of medicine to be taken the morning of your test.
• If you take Aspirin or Blood Thinners, stop taking two days prior to your procedure.
• Bring all of your medications with you.
• Bring someone to drive you home (be here approximately 2 hours).
• You should not drive 8-10 hours after procedure.
